This well known decorated chest originates from the Reading area of Pennsylvania. Its distinctive Pennsylvania German folk painting is similar to originals found in that area. Constructed of Poplar, the dovetailed case contains two drawers and interior till box. A unique feature of the till box are the two hidden drawers revealed by removing the front panel. The finish pictured is a moderate distressed appearance.
